Fagertun is located just one house away from Rambu, along the main street in Tynset. The building dates back to the late 18th century and, like Rambu, holds a strong place in the town’s local history. Owned by Tynset municipality, the house had stood in poor condition for several years before a new future for the building was proposed.

In 2018, a dialogue began about transforming Fagertun into an artist residence connected to the activity at Rambu. Following several years of planning and gradual renovation, the house was fully restored in autumn 2025. The completion of the renovation coincided with the Woolly Matters project, marking the first time in many years that Fagertun was once again inhabited and used as a shared living and gathering space.

Today, Fagertun functions as a fully equipped, modern artist residence. The house offers four spacious double rooms on the first floor, as well as additional bedrooms, a large shared living room, kitchen, and a wheelchair-accessible bathroom on the ground floor. While updated for contemporary use, the building retains much of its original character through exposed timber walls and original windows in its enclosed balcony.

As part of the wider ecosystem of Rambu, Fagertun provides artists with a comfortable place to live, rest, and connect. Supporting longer stays, shared meals, and everyday exchange alongside artistic work.
